A lifetime as an artist and formative years working in construction with the family business led Brett Hatcher into the art department of the film industry.  He relishes problem solving and logistics almost as much as the creative process, which makes him a natural art director.  He has designed in many different contexts including film sets, graphics, signage, furniture, museum exhibitions, and large-scale artwork.  His background in construction provides the skill set to convert visual dreams into reality.

He holds a degree in fine art from Macalester College and one in filmmaking from The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. He has worked on dozens of feature films, commercials, and television projects.  He has maintained his ties to the art world by producing public sculptures in downtown LA, and by fabricating public art pieces for LA artists.

He is an adept problem solver, finding creative solutions to visual problems.  His wide range of work in film production has led him to produce creative settings that span centuries, worlds, genres, and budgets.
